Classic racing motorcycles

The Lansdowne Classic Series is the place to showcase the very best classic racing motorcycles. For over 20 years the Series’ has gone from strength to strength and it’s riders have enjoyed invitations every year to race in the Goodwood Revival’s Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy race.

Our calendar encompasses some of the very best UK race tracks including Donington Park, Cadwell Park and Silverstone International. We are very proud to hold British Championship status for our Bonhams supported class of 500cc pre-1963 Grand Prix machines. These machines can be either original or replica but must conform to strict eligibility rules.

In addition to the British Championship we also run a selection of other classes. Our WRR 500cc Class also caters for pre-1963 classic racing motorcycles but are allowed certain period modifications; for example: wheel sizes and alternative exhausts and carburettors. This vibrant class is sponsored by the National Motorcycle Musuem.

For the smaller capacity machines our riders can enter the Avon Tyres supported 350cc Championship with similar eligibility rules to the WRR 500s. We are currently considering making a few other machines, including Aermacchi racers eligible to race with the Lansdowne.

If your classic race bike is pre-1954 Group 1 or pre-1955 Group 2 The Classic Motorcycle supported Lansdowne Club Class is a must. Your machine must confirm to the strictly period Goodwood Revival specification. Some of these Rudges, for example, are extremely fast!

Racing throughout the field

To add more spice to the season’s events we have the the Thirkell Cup for riders over 60 years of age and the Karl-Heinz Lansdowne Cup which rewards the rider with the most points across every class.
