2017 Lansdowne Newsletter No.6.

Those that came to the Manor Hotel enjoyed a pleasant evening winding down from the race season, the trophies were given, food was eaten and dancing ( of sorts) was done.
A total of £1332 was raised by the raffle & auction which will be split between the ACU Benevolent Fund and MacMillan Cancer. Thanks to all who helped this all happen.

At the riders meeting much was talked about, mostly about the direction of the Lansdowne in the future and it was decided to give ourselves an image overhaul and be more proactive with sponsors and media to give ourselves a higher profile, which should help attract new riders and sponsors to join in the fun.
This will of course cost money so it was decided to put up the membership by £10 to £30, this is still very good value as over the year we pay your weekend membership fees for Bemsee and North Glos Clubs, hire a hospitality suite at Donington and provide tea/coffee & biscuits at all meetings – what other clubs gives you all that?

Next year will be the 20th season for the Lansdowne and it would be really nice to have full grids to mark this great achievement, so have a look at our calendar and see if you can commit to doing the whole season and make it a season to remember.
The 2018 membership forms should be up on the website early December so please don’t join until you see those, you will then of course be sent your ACU unique Club Code to enable you to renew your licence.
The provisional race calendar for next year was announced, so far 7 meetings with the possibility of a non championship meeting in Portugal at Portimao, more on this as we hear more.

Provisional dates as follows:-

April 6/8 Silverstone Int. BMCRC
May 12/13 Donington Endurance Legends/CRMC
May 19/20 Snetterton 300 BMCRC
June 10 Mallory Park UK Motorsport.
July 7/8 Pembrey North Glos.
Aug 3/4/5 Donington CRMC
Oct 6/7 Cadwell Park CRMC

The Mallory meeting is a new one for us and will be a one day mixed meeting with cars and karts, we will get a Qualifying session and 2 races, entry fee will be £160 and we need to get 30 on the grid.

The website is being updated over the next couple of weeks, with 2018 membership & machine reg.forms, dinner photos and the Powerpoint presentation from the riders meeting.
